Longan, Lichi – Plant
The Thai Litchi or Rambutan is a sweet floral flavoured fruit that is usually eaten as is or can be consumed in juice form. Litchi ice cream is also delicious. The litchi outer layer has to be peeled off carefully due to the thorny texture or can be done with a knife. They can be stored at room termperature for a few days and kept in a refrigerator if required to be stored for longer.
Longan Care
Fertilize longan trees with a balanced 5-5-5 fertilizer every two months, beginning with 1/4 pound fertilizer one month after planting
Spread the fertilizer over the soil from the trunk to the drip line and water thoroughly.
