Bougainvillea (Pink) – Plant
Other common names are Bougainvillea ‘Poulton’s Special’, Synonyms Bougainvillea ‘Poultonii Special’. Genus Bougainvillea is scandent evergreen shrubs, sometimes thorny, with simple ovate leaves and clusters of small tubular flowers each enclosed by 3 showy, brightly colored ovate bracts. Species ‘Poulton’s Special’ is an evergreen climber to 5m, with ovate leaves and clusters of magenta-rose bracts surrounding small white flowers.
How to grow
Cultivation Under glass grow in loam-based potting compost in full light and water freely in summer and keep just moist in winter. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly. If container-grown can be put outside in summer. Water sparingly in winter. May survive short spells down to 0C if kept fairly dry
